Who Should Join the Apartment Association Southern Colorado?
Property Owners, management companies, as well as the staff that supports them, benefit from Association membership. Whether you own or manage one property or multiple properties, membership provides useful educational opportunities, legislative support and facilitates the formation of business relationships. Supplier/vendor companies who serve the apartment industry benefit through increased knowledge of the ways that Owners and Suppliers can best support one another, numerous opportunities for key visibility at events and networking functions, as well as frequent involvement and interaction with Owner Members.

The Apartment Association of Southern Colorado prides itself on having a vast array of member benefits that appeal to all aspects of the apartment industry. Briefly, the following encompasses our services:

CAA & NAA Membership
Membership with AASC automatically enrolls you as a member of the Colorado Apartment Association (CAA) and the National Apartment Association (NAA). These organizations represent the industry in legislative matters and the State Legislature and in Congress.

The Seven Sessions for Highly Successful Property Management
Seven months out of each year  AASC hosts a meeting featuring current issues facing our industry and speakers with topics that will keep the interest of the entire membership. Meeting times are generally from 8:30-10:30 a.m. for spring and summer months and from 11:30 to 1:00 p.m. during fall and winter months.  Members enjoy a meal while they network with colleagues and always leave with useful information to improve their business or property. 

Networking Opportunities / Events
AASC has an extensive calendar of activities, meetings, social gatherings and luncheons which are designed to provide members an opportunity to build business and personal relationships, showcasing their company's products and services and to have fun!! Some examples of our events are: The Annual Education Conference and Expo, The Chili Cook Off, Golf Tournament, Murder Mystery Dinner, and Maintenance Olympics.

Advertising & Sponsorship
Members may promote their companies by placing your advertisements in either our monthly publication, Connections, our Membership Directory, or on our website. Various other advertising opportunities, as well as sponsorship meetings, programs, and fundraising events are available on a regular basis. AASC also uses special mailings and faxes to all members to promote events, education or legislative announcements. Major sponsors receive recognition on all marketing materials of this type.

Mailing Label and Directories on Disk
Mailing labels, as well as the directory formatted in Excel are also available to assist you in promoting your products or service. Mailing labels are $0.05 per label, and the directory formatted in Excel on either a disk or via email cost $25.00 per section (Owners = one section, Properties = one section, suppliers = one section) and may be requested by calling or emailing AASC's Membership Director.

Leadership and Volunteer Opportunities
Members may participate in their choice of active committees working in a wide variety of areas. Committee service is a direct way for members to network and contribute to their owner personal self-development. Contact AASC for more information, or consult the calendar for committee meeting dates. The following committees are always looking for willing volunteers:

Education
AASC is proud to offer nationally-certified designation programs, as well as local seminars. There are numerous learning opportunities, including topics like: leasing, fair housing, marketing, management, and maintenance to name a few, as well as instructing and sponsorship opportunities available through the Education Department. 

Products, Forms & Surveys
AASC can provide a full range of forms necessary to serve your on-site needs. Rental Applications, Rental Agreements, Move In and Move Out Condition Reports, Pet Agreements, Demand for Compliance and the Mold Addendum, are just a few of the forms available for purchase through the association. The forms have been developed in conjunction with the Colorado Apartment Association (CAA). These triplicate forms save you the legal costs of developing and revising contracts.

Legal Handbook
Written by the CAA Attorney, this handbook covers and explains civil and criminal state laws, as well as tenant and landlord rights and duties. It serves as an excellent resource for both the corporate management office, as well as any member community.

The Vacancy and Rent Survey
This 21-year survey includes the latest market statistics in addition to historical data going back to 1981. To purchase or learn more click here. It is one of the best-known and reliable apartment studies in the country and is released quarterly.

Legislative Monitoring & Representation
AASC has an extensive Government Affairs Department. The goal is to educate the membership on government activity happening at the Federal level through work with the National Apartment Association, the State level through the Colorado Apartment Association, and at the city or local level. AASC monitors all local city council and local organizations to determine how this legislation may affect the membership of the Apartment Association. Through monitoring and communicating these potential dangers, AASC strives to protect Southern Colorado area apartment assets. With member's combined efforts, we can serve the industry's best interests.
